Middle School Science
Philip Akins is a science teacher in the middle and high school. After earning his bachelors degree from the University of North Georgia in 2015, he began working in the medical field. He married his wife, Natalie, shortly after graduating. While in college, they attended and served on the music team at Christ Family Church in Dahlonega. Philip decided to change his intended career from medicine to teaching after his experience working as a pharmacy technician and in hospital administration.
Both Philip and his wife moved to Canton in 2017 to pursue their careers in teaching and nursing, respectively. They attend Faith Community Church, where Philip grew up, and help lead small groups in the Youth Group. His hobbies include music, reading, linguistics, hiking, camping, and travel.
