Cherokee Christian Financial Assistance
We offer a limited amount of tuition aid to families in need. Please be advised that our ability to provide financial aid is limited and is based on the generosity of God’s people, our enrollment levels, and the number of people who have redirected a portion of their taxes to the GOAL Scholarship Fund (more information on GOAL below). All financial aid decisions are based on our available resources.
In 2008, the State of Georgia passed House Bill 1133 which allows interested tax payers to receive a tax credit for donations made to approved Student Scholarship Organizations (SSO). These organizations then fund individual scholarships for students seeking private school enrollment. The program is targeted towards low to moderate income families who are looking for an alternative to public education. Cherokee Christian Schools has partnered with GOAL Scholarship Program to make such scholarships available.
Am I Eligible?
In order to receive a GOAL Scholarship, your child must currently be enrolled in a public school, an official home study program, or eligible to enroll in a qualified kindergarten or first grade program. If you currently are enrolled at CCS, or are enrolled in another private school, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
How much do I qualify for?
The amount of the scholarship is based on your income level and family size.
What If I Have More Than One Child?
Scholarships are available for each eligible child in your household. For example, if your income level and family size qualifies you for a 50% GOAL scholarship, then each of your eligible children would qualify for a maximum of 50% towards their individual tuition costs.
How Do I Apply?
Application for a GOAL scholarship must be concurrent with your application for enrollment. No application for a GOAL scholarship or financial aid will be considered without an application for enrollment. Students must first be accepted into Cherokee Christian Schools before a request from the school to GOAL is made on behalf of the parents. Once your child has been accepted for enrollment, CCS will forward the appropriate paperwork and a school recommendation to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program for processing. Program officials will then review the recommendation and either approve, modify, or reject the request based on program funding.
Note: The GOAL Scholarship Program does not accept applications directly from individual parents or guardians.
If you have any other questions concerning this program, or any other questions concerning enrollment, please contact Mrs. Kim Howell at 678-494-5464 or via our contact form. We look forward to hearing from you.
