Where Character is Tested and Refined
Athletics at Cherokee Christian Schools are an integral part of our mission, and exists not as just a venue for competition, but as a method to develop strong character and positive attitudes in each and every student who participates. The primary purpose of the athletic program is to provide students a setting to glorify God through the development and exercise of:
- personal character
- athletic ability
Throughout their development, we further equip them through coaching with the necessary skills to be successful in each.
Our philosophy is that we compete to win, but winning is not the most important part of competing. The Athletic Department strives to live out Philippians 1:27:
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel”
We strive at all times to be good ambassadors of Jesus Christ and by doing so we represent our school, our family and ourselves very well.
Student athletes are held accountable for their progress both on the field and in the classroom. We recognize that success on the field is inconsequential without success off the field. Warrior athletics unify our family, and serve to develop students spiritually, mentally, socially, academically and athletically.
