Dr. Kirby is the Academic Dean at CCS, which includes oversight of curriculum, teacher training, and technology use in the classrooms. He also is teaching Bible 7, Microsoft Office Applications, and seventh grade Effective Technology. He has been involved in Christian education since 1978, in four different Christian schools. Dr.Kirby was at CCS from 1988-1998, and again since 2008. He has a Bachelor of Music degree (organ performance) from Jacksonville University, a Master’s in Christian Education from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Louisiana Baptist University. He and his wife Martha (retired CCS kindergarten teacher of 23 years) have three grown sons and attend Cherokee Presbyterian Church in Canton, where Rod is the church organist. In his spare time, Rod enjoys classical music, reading, and watching college football (Go Dawgs!).
